We don’t want you to keep buying our products honestly

We all love a clean home, but we also love a clean planet. Which is why we’re committed to doing our part in protecting the world around us by thinking harder about the products we produce and the materials we use.

Everyone’s talking about plastics. And while we’re working hard to remove it from our packaging as much as possible, we also recognise that plastic is an integral part of our products: it makes them durable and water-resistant. But we need to be responsible – which is why all our products are designed to last.  So while you might not need to replace our products as frequently as other brands, we sleep better knowing that the products we do sell are not being put to waste. It’s a philosophy that’s been at the heart of our business for over 70 years and still guides us today. Here’s how.

We give materials a second life

We give materials a second life

Over 40% of the solid plastic parts used in our cleaning products and 70% of our worldwide packaging are made from recycled material. What’s more, nearly all of our plastic packaging can be recycled after you’ve finished with it. So what we throw away today can be used again tomorrow. We have committed ourselves to make all of our packaging recyclable and increase the amount of recycled plastics in our solid plastic products to 50 percent by 2025.

We design out waste

Less is best. Which is why we’re committed to a 20% reduction in plastic packaging by 2025. Because we believe reducing the impact of plastic is one of the few occasions when getting less for your money is actually a good thing. We’re also reducing the chemical risk to our planet by complying with REACH, the EU regulation for managing harmful chemicals. We’ve banned PVC – the most environmentally harmful type of plastic – from our products.

We create products that last

We create products that last

Our products get better with age. That’s because every time you reuse them you’re keeping one less product out of the waste system. We not only encourage our customers to keep and reuse their Vileda products, we design them to last that way. So whatever you do with Vileda, we hope you Love it Clean.
